San Stefano Gallery is one of the best venues in central Sofia to host various events - exhibitions, literary readings, musical and theatre performances, filming, conferences, seminars, presentations, corporate celebrations, art workshops for children and adults, typography courses, etc. Being designed to be a centre of social and cultural life, San Stefano Gallery offers a welcoming, airy and multifunctional space – with maximum flexibility in the interior and options for fast transformations using special lighting, audiovisual system and professional technical support.

The interior architecture of San Stefano Gallery was performed by the architect Hristo Chaparov. The design was jointly executed by Interioro EOOD (with Ms. Sylvia Harizanova as a chief designer) and Treasure OOD.

In front of the gallery entrance, 360-degree rotating white wall-panels are mounted - an excellent opportunity to advertise upcoming events in the gallery. A folding glass wall opens the hall towards the atrium of San Stefano Plaza Complex.

San Stefano Gallery comprises three exhibition spaces which can be used separately. Double sided curtains are fitted to divide each space and create a cosy atmosphere for visitors. The ergonomic SEAT TABLE chairs can be converted into comfortable height-adjustable desks with just one move.

The architectural lighting of the German company ERCO provides excellent indoor illumination using a three-tier optical system. Over 10 different configurations of spotlights and wall washers are provided to create the desired effects that would attract visitors’ attention or highlight the texture, colour and shape of exhibits.

San Stefano Gallery is equipped with a Full HD 1080 Digital Multimedia Projector. The projection screen and the projector are discretely built into the interior for optimal convenience.

Wall-mounted picture hanging rails are provided. White pedestal stands are available in a variety of sizes to display artworks or advertise products. A customized built-in sound system is integrated to ensure excellent sound quality in conferences, seminars, literary readings or promotions, as well as to provide background music.

San Stefano Gallery is the first gallery in Bulgaria which offers barrier walls to protect paintings and its location at San Stefano Plaza Multifunctional Complex is safeguarded by 24/7 live security guards.

The entire inner area of San Stefano Gallery is composed of earthly and natural forms. All materials used in the interior are natural and convey a sense of direct contact with the living nature. The floor is made of teak wood and some of the walls are covered with embalmed natural Scandinavian moss.

San Stefano Gallery was officially opened on 7 March 2017 with an exhibition “Historical Romanticism” of the artist Vasil Goranov - a master of historical painting. Please click here for more information about the exhibition.
