The distinctive artist Petar Mitchev opened a painting art exhibition in San Stefano Gallery, which became one of the capital’s cultural life events in October. The official opening was attended by prominent public figures, diplomats, artists and journalists, among which friends and keen connoisseurs of the exquisite art of Peter Mitchev- Pedro.

“The center of the artist’s creative world is the image of the Woman. Adored, loved, liked, she takes many forms in his paintings. His characters are filled with lots of harmony and kindness, they sate the space with lots of imagination, mystery and this especially delicate mystical energy. The artist uses details and accents carefully, in order to bring out the specific way of looking toward the woman’s character - turned into a lyrical and somehow nostalgical impression” - stated the art expert Diyana Draganova-Shtir on the opening night. She also added: “An interesting accent in the exhibition are the compositions created on authentic bread-troughs, some of which are almost 300 years old”, which the author turns into colourful and filled with lots of stories art.

“For many years there were wooden objects in my tavern in Pleven, whose life was already over. One day I said to myself: “I can make them come back to life by painting on them. It turned out to be quite simple” – says Peter Mitchev.

The artist draws inspiration from the material world and the customs of the people, tells ancient tales, recreated in his art, which gained popularity in many countires abroad. Petar Mitchev - Pedro's exhibition will continue until November 3, 2017 at San Stefano Gallery.
